Touchscreen monitors or displays enable usage of a computer or device by touching the display area with your finger or stylus. No keyboard and/or mouse is required for interacting with the on-screen content.

Depending on the touch screen technology used, either a finger or a stylus or a pen can be used instead of a mouse. For typing, an on-screen keyboard (standard on many operating systems) is used.

A touch screen is very intuitive and easy to use, as the user simply touches what he or she sees on the display.

Touchscreen monitors save space as no keyboard or mouse is required. Touch monitors can even be mounted on the wall.

Touch displays are more reliable than mechanical buttons as there are no moving parts. 3M Touch Screens come with a 5 year warranty.

Touch screens are easier to use than keyboards. Not everyone knows what 'Enter' or 'Spacebar' is.

Touch screen systems can be easily re-configured because they are software driven. Imagine changing the letters on your keyboard !

Some examples where touch screens are used in daily life:
PDAs (O2, HP, Imate, etc.), watches (Tissot T-Touch), mobile phones (Motorola Razr2, O2, Imate, HP, etc.), Tablet PCs, satellite navigation systems in cars (Audi, Mercedes Benz), ATMS, information kiosks, POS systems in shops and restaurants, gaming machines, factory floors, etc.
